I don’t care how withe, lovebly, or palyful your poodle is.  If you’re gonna ask for money, don’t post it in the FREE section.

This is how it’s gonna happen…

Welcome to the Craigslist Fail Blog.

I’m a frequent visitor of Craigslist and I have found many great things for sale and for free, and have also posted ads on there myself.  However, while looking over the countless ads posted each day, I am still in disbelief in some of the ridiculous listings I find that just make me think “What on earth were they THINKING?”.

Short description:
This is a place where I will be picking out some of the stupidest ads on Craigslist and posting them for all to gawk and laugh at.  It’s sort of like a peopleofwalmart.com thing, but instead of pictures of crazy people at walmart, I share ads posted by crazy people on Craigslist.  Enjoy.

Longer description:
I’ve been taking pictures of many of these “fail” listings and posting them to my facebook wall, and my friends have been enjoying seeing them.  I wanted to start something outside of facebook, though, and so I decided to register this new blog where I can share the fail ads I find.  I wanted to get the blog name “craigslistfail”, but it was taken, and the owner of the account doesn’t even use it.  What a shame.

Now that I’m posting this stuff publicly, I need to be a bit more careful about privacy.  In many of the postings you’ll see smudged out areas.  These are areas where I’ve smudged out phone numbers and other contact information for the person who posted the ad.  If I miss any, please be aware it is a mistake and I must remove it, so let me know.  On second thought, the ads on craigslist are publicly visible to everybody on the internet, anyway.  Why should I be concerned about privacy?

Also, as another sort of “disclaimer”, if you find that I’ve made fun of an ad that YOU posted, don’t be offended.  Think of it as a learning opportunity.  I’ve pointed out your mistakes so you can avoid making them next time… and remember, nobody but you will know it’s yours, so don’t get bent out of shape.

As GLaDOS so beautifully put it, “comedy equals tragedy plus time.”
